Roger is very active in this community. He is a founding member of New Hope Crisis Pregnancy Center; was a Campaign Cabinet Member of the North Syracuse Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps; Chamber of Commerce member and sponsors the Syracuse Bloodmobile, Cicero Little League, and Pop Warner Football. Since 1984, Roger, along with his brothers, has donated a car for SADD for the after prom giveaway, and has supplied Driver Education Cars, for numerous local schools, and Syracuse University Courtesy Car Program.
Roger is a member of the The Gathering Place @ NSBC where he has served as Chairman of the Missions Committee, Chairman of the Board of Deacons, former Adult Sunday School teacher, choir member, Chairman of the Pastoral Search Committee, building committee and trustee. Along with others from the church, he has gone on mission trips to Senegal, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica, to teach the people there about Christ, and to bring them medicine and supplies. He is also former Board Chairman of Faith Heritage School (the largest non-denominational Christian School in NY State). Roger is member of the Fellowship of Companies for Christ International, Greater Syracuse Association of Evangelicals and the Jesus Video Project. Roger serves on the Board of Directors for Word of Life Fellowship International, and was Executive Director of the Syracuse Festival with Luis Palau in 2002. Roger is also a founding Board Member of Serve Syracuse, a non-profit started in 2016 that seeks to serve the city of Syracuse by supporting and partnering with existing organizations and churches to help fulfill the needs of the community that are not adequately being addressed.
He has served on the Mazda National Dealer Advisory Council and the Dodge Regional Advisory Council. He has twice been Director of the Syracuse Automobile Dealers Association, member of National Automobile Dealer Association, American International Automobile Dealer Association, New York State Automobile Dealer Association, served on the committee for the Syracuse Auto Show, member of J.D. Roger bought the former Penn Can Mall that has been transformed into Driver’s Village, a consolidated automotive mega-mall that combines not only his dealerships, but his brother’s dealerships as well on a 92 acre site with over 700,000 square feet of building space. Customers can come and peruse thousands of cars from over 20 different franchises on one piece of property. Under Roger’s leadership Driver’s Village has been nominated by the Syracuse Business Journal as one of CNY’s Best Places to Work for 5 consecutive years, 2016-2020.
Roger is continuing the legacy that his father, Glenn Burdick, began so many years ago of love, integrity, honesty, and the rewards of a life dedicated to Jesus Christ. His love for the Lord and people in general is evident in his success.
Roger lives in Brewerton with his wife, Shirley. They have two children, Erin Burdick and Bryan (Lindsey) Burdick and eight grandchildren.
