Guest Speaker

Mike Saccocio

Mike Saccocio is the executive director of City Mission of Schenectady, New York. In addition to his work at City Mission, Mike has served in community leadership positions with the Schenectady County Flood Recovery Coalition and the Schenectady Bridges Project. He is the recipient of several community honors, including the 2014 Community Heroes Award presented by The Schenectady Foundation. 

Saccocio was deputy mayor of Schenectady from 1992–94. Prior to that he played professional baseball in the minor league system of the Montreal Expos. In 2010 Saccocio coached the Rotterdam Rangers baseball team (16-year-olds) to a victory in the National Amateur Baseball Federation’s World Series. 

Saccocio is a graduate of Union College, Schenectady, and holds a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from Regent University in Virginia. In 2014 he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Human Letters degree from Union Graduate College. He and his wife, Carol, live in Glenville, New York.
